Sarah Ouma is a highly skilled and experienced communications strategist and certified professional journalist with over five years of experience in the field. She is recognized by the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) and the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) as a certified communications professional. Sarah holds a Master's degree in Development Communication and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Media Studies, both from the University of Nairobi.

Throughout her career, Sarah has demonstrated a deep commitment to promoting effective communication and messaging in a range of sectors. Her expertise in development communication, combined with her journalistic skills, enables her to craft compelling and impactful messages that resonate with diverse audiences. Sarah's passion for communications and dedication to excellence make her an invaluable asset to SDI Kenya.

She joined SDI-Kenya in January 2023 as a Communication Officer, where she brings her expertise to bear in support of the organization's mission of promoting inclusive cities where low-income communities have access to adequate housing and services, and can live with dignity.

As a graduate of the University of Nairobi with a Master's degree in Development Communication and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Media Studies, Sarah is well-equipped to provide technical support to Muungano wa Wanavijijiji, the National Movement of the Urban Poor in Kenya. With her certification by the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) and the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK), Sarah is committed to ensuring that the voices of the urban poor are heard through our YouTube Channel KYCTV, our website and all our social media platforms.

Sarah plays a critical role in developing and implementing communication strategies that raise awareness of the organization's work, through her work, Sarah helps to create sustainable solutions that promote inclusive development and support the growth of vibrant, equitable cities across Kenya though Amplification of the community’s voices.
