Emily Wangari

Federation national leader

Emily Wangari is a National Federation Leader from Mathare, the Assistant Chairlady of Kiamustisya Cooperative Housing, a community mobilizer from Mathare, a member of Nyumba Kumi, and a Community Health Volunteer. She also serves as a research assistant and has vast knowledge in facilitating community dialogues, organizing, nutrition, mapping, and enumeration. She is passionate about community development, particularly in matters of advocacy.

Emily began engaging with Muungano Wa Wanavijiji in 1997, focusing on community organizing. Her goal is to see the community free of evictions, ensuring adequate housing and good infrastructure, and empowering women to take the lead in advocating for issues without fear.
