Dorice Bosibiri

National federation leader

Dorice Bosibiri is a national federation leader from Mukuru kwa Njenga since 2006. She is a champion against evictions in slum areas, a community mobilizer and organizer, a climate change champion, a social worker, and a community advocate on issues affecting people living in informal settlements. She has certificates of participation in leadership community mobilization, peer-to-peer education, Trainer of Trainers in self-help groups, men as partners, HIV and AIDS, and Sexual Reproductive Health. She leads women in land and sanitation campaigns, as well as the Mukuru Special Planning Area and climate change advocacy. Dorice participated in the formation of Ward Climate Change Planning Committees in Nakuru County. She possesses skills in dialogue facilitation, advocacy, community organizing, and data collection through the Know Your City data team. Dorice has received a Community-Based Adaptation (CBA) award. Her goal is to see the federation movement grow beyond informal settlements, making the living conditions in informal settlements better, with access to good housing and provision of all basic needs.
